The History of Bolglass
Bolglass is the oldest Christmas bauble factory in Gniezno, operating continuously since 1946. For more than 78 years, generation after generation, we have been creating hand-blown, hand-decorated glass Christmas ornaments.
The "Ozdoba" Work Cooperative
Shortly after the war, production of glass Christmas ornaments began in Gniezno within the "Ozdoba" Work Cooperative. Today's Bolglass traces its roots directly to it — which is why our glassmaking tradition is the longest in the city.
Craft passed from hand to hand
Glass blowing over a burner, silvering with silver nitrate, hand lacquering and glitter decoration — techniques that cannot be automated, passed on to successive generations of artistic craftsmen.
A family manufactory at Witkowska 78
Bolglass operates as a family manufactory in Gniezno. Every bauble is still made by hand — from a heated glass tube to a finished, shining ornament — exactly as in 1946.
3D configurator, personalisation, factory tours
We combine the oldest craft in Gniezno with modernity: a 3D configurator, UV-print and laser personalisation, and an educational path through the blowing, silvering, lacquering and decorating studios that is open to visitors.
