School trips to the bauble factory
Bolglass is the oldest bauble factory in Gniezno, operating continuously since 1946 — and you can see it from the inside. On the educational path you watch a bauble born from a heated glass tube, and in the workshop you decorate your own and take it home. We welcome schools, kindergartens, families, companies and organised groups — about 50 km from Poznań.
How the bauble factory works
Bolglass has been making baubles continuously since 1946, and the whole process happens on site at ul. Witkowska 78 in Gniezno. Visitors watch it live, on an educational path leading through a working manufactory.
Glass blowing
It all starts with a glass tube. Over the burner the glass softens and is blown into the shape of a bauble — each one is made separately, by hand, which is why no two are identical.
Silvering
The inside of the bauble is coated with silver nitrate. That is what gives the glass its characteristic mirror shine, and only then is colour applied.
Lacquering
The silvered bauble goes to lacquering. The colour is applied by hand and it decides the depth of the finish.
Decorating
Finally the baubles are decorated by hand — with glitter, a painted pattern, a name or a company logo. This stage is entirely craft work.
How the trip goes
Welcome and entry to the educational path
The group enters the educational path with a guide, leading through a real, working manufactory.
Blowing, silvering, lacquering, decorating
The group walks through every department of the manufactory in turn and watches the work live at each station. The guide explains what happens at each stage and answers the students' questions.
Bauble painting workshop (extended package)
Under the guidance of an artist, each student decorates two baubles. Children do not work with hot glass — they decorate ready-blown baubles and take their work home.
A farewell gift
Every participant receives a gift of their choice: a personalised bauble or a tube of 6 colourful glitter baubles (6 cm).

Tours run with a guide, on booked dates — Monday to Friday, 8:00–16:00. Dates are booked online or by phone.

The most frequent guests of the manufactory. The room holds 92 people, so two classes tour and take part in workshops at the same time, and the coach parks free of charge on the premises.
Families
The workshops involve decorating ready-blown baubles — children have no contact with hot glass, so even preschoolers manage well. Every participant takes their work home.
Companies
A tour with a workshop works well as a team day out. We also make corporate baubles with your logo — quoted individually.
Organised groups
Coach trips and tourist groups. For larger groups and unusual hours we arrange the details individually — and prepare a quote.

How much does it cost?
A guided factory tour costs from PLN 35 per person, and the tour + workshop package from PLN 60 per person. The final price depends on the date — the booking calculator shows the cost for your group right away. For large groups and special dates we prepare individual quotes.
